The SmoliTec safety box for lithium-ion batteries is also available as a complete set including nine Extover® Fine fire suppression cushions with 5 liters each. The combination of a UN-certified hazardous goods box and fine Extover® fire suppression granulate provides a highly effective safety solution for storing and transporting lithium-ion and LiPo batteries.
The Extover® Fine cushions contain fine expanded glass granulate with a granule size of approx. 0.5–1 mm. Due to its excellent flow behavior, the material can optimally fill cavities and fully surround the batteries. This reduces movement and ensures optimal heat absorption and oxygen displacement in the event of a thermal incident.
The nine cushions are evenly placed inside the safety box. Batteries are positioned above, below, and between the cushions so they are securely embedded. After loading, the box is closed and secured using the included fastening strap.
Important: This complete set is only suitable for undamaged or non-critical defective lithium-ion batteries in accordance with packaging instructions P908 / LP904. If there is a risk that a damaged cell could ignite during transport, approval according to special provision 376 is required.
Batteries that are prone to rapid disassembly, dangerous reactions, flame generation, heat development, or hazardous gas release under normal transport conditions may only be transported under officially approved conditions.
