Compact, robust and quickly accessible when needed: Extover® Coarse is now available from SmoliTec in a resealable 5-litre heavy-duty plastic bucket.
The inorganic expanded-glass granulate has a coarse grain size of approximately 1 to 4 mm and is designed for preventive fire protection as well as the safe storage and transport of lithium-ion and LiPo batteries. Its practical 5-litre size allows Extover® to be positioned directly beside charging stations, workbenches, battery storage areas, safety boxes or transport containers.
In the event of a fire, the granulate is applied loosely and completely over the source of the fire. It surrounds the burning material, reduces the oxygen supply and supports the controlled containment of the incident. At very high temperatures, Extover® can melt and form a sealing protective layer. Once cooled, this layer forms a solid crust that can help reduce the risk of reignition.
Extover® Coarse is 100 percent inorganic, chemically inert, resistant to ageing and does not deteriorate during storage. It does not cause the typical secondary damage associated with conventional extinguishing agents and is suitable for containing fires involving lithium-ion and LiPo batteries as well as Class D combustible metals.
The transparent heavy-duty bucket protects its contents from environmental influences, can be securely resealed and allows the granulate to be visually inspected at any time. This makes the 5-litre container a practical fire protection solution for workshops, industrial facilities, research institutes, laboratories, storage areas and model-building applications.
