SmoliTec is expanding its lithium battery safety range with the introduction of the new LiBa® Barrel safety containers in 30 litres and 50 litres. These robust steel barrels are designed for the safe collection, storage and transport of defective or unstable lithium batteries in accordance with ADR regulations.
Both models feature the proven LiBa® Vent system, which ensures controlled pressure relief in case of a thermal incident. This makes the containers suitable for industrial facilities, recycling companies, workshops, laboratories and emergency services dealing with lithium batteries.
The LiBa® Barrels are constructed from 0.5 mm steel, coated with a fire-protective finish, and equipped with a removable lid, a secure tension ring, and two carrying handles. The 30L model uses a reinforcing bead, while the 50L version includes a stacking bead for enhanced structural stability.
When used with suitable filling materials such as vermiculite or Extover®, an additional thermal barrier can be created, further increasing safety during abnormal battery behaviour.
