With the LiBa®Bag, SmoliTec is expanding its range with a flexible and practical inner packaging solution for the transport and storage of damaged, defective or safety-critical lithium batteries in accordance with Special Provision 376 ADR.
The LiBa®Bag is made from high-quality functional fabric and features specially positioned ventilation areas. In the event of a battery incident, these areas support the controlled release of gases and help prevent uncontrolled pressure from building up inside the bag. Depending on the version, the LiBa®Bag is securely closed using heavy-duty hook-and-loop fasteners or safety buckles.
One of its key advantages is its flexible sizing. Each LiBa®Bag can be adapted to the dimensions of the respective lithium battery or the required packaging size. This makes the system suitable for a wide variety of applications, ranging from smaller lithium batteries and power tool batteries to industrial batteries and larger energy storage systems.
The can be used as inner packaging in combination with a suitable outer packaging and additional protective or filling materials. It therefore supports the safe, organised and professional handling of lithium batteries in industrial operations, workshops, logistics, retail, disposal and technical service applications.
Special Provision 376 ADR applies to lithium cells and batteries that have been identified as damaged or defective and may be liable to rapidly disassemble, dangerously react, produce a flame, generate dangerous heat or emit toxic, corrosive or flammable gases under normal conditions of carriage. Their transport is subject to specific requirements regarding packaging, marking, documentation and, where applicable, approval by the relevant authorities.
Important: The LiBa®Bag is an inner packaging and does not constitute a complete ADR transport packaging on its own. The appropriate packaging and transport solution must be selected and assessed according to the condition, type and capacity of the battery, the intended transport route and the applicable regulations.
