Fresh from the 3D Printer: A New Deposit Opening for the AkkuSafeBox

Development of the AkkuSafeBox continues at SmoliTec – and this time, three little yellow visitors have joined the prototype inspection.

Together with Voltmaster’s 3D printing lab, we designed a new red frame for the deposit opening and printed an initial sample in TPU. This flexible plastic allows us to check the shape and fit directly on the prototype and make further adjustments as needed.

The opening is intended for depositing small used batteries, smartphones and power banks. We are developing the AkkuSafeBox for collection points in locations such as supermarkets and electronics stores. Larger batteries are intended to be placed inside separately by staff.

With the printed sample ready, we can move on to the next practical tests. Step by step, we are working to make everyday use as straightforward as possible.

The red frame has already passed its first unofficial inspection: Almost as soon as it was finished, three Minions claimed it for themselves. Whether they are checking the fit or planning their next mischief remains to be seen.

Stay tuned for more updates as development progresses!
