Today, we are providing a detailed look inside the EasySafeBox. The close-up images show its double-wall construction and the various components that play a key role in the box’s safety concept.
The space between the two walls is filled with Extover® extinguishing granulate. Special Extover® cushions can also be placed inside the storage compartment. In the event of a thermal runaway, the extinguishing agent contained within the cushions is released. It can help to significantly reduce the resulting temperatures, limit the oxygen available to the fire and mitigate the effects of the thermal reaction.
The double-wall construction is designed to provide protection in both directions: it helps protect the surrounding environment from a fire inside the box while also shielding the stored batteries from external heat exposure.
Another important part of the safety concept is the integrated filter area in the lid. We are currently working on the optimum combination of different filter materials. The next stage will involve comprehensive fire tests under realistic conditions, allowing us to evaluate and further optimise the entire design.
The first EasySafeBox has now been fully assembled. The upcoming tests mark the beginning of the next important phase of development.
The EasySafeBox is developed and manufactured in Germany.
